Returns & Refunds Policy

We understand that mistakes happen. However, every return creates real costs that ultimately affect pricing for all customers. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to “Measure Twice, Order Once”. Taking a few extra moments to double-check your requirements is the best way to get the right thumb screws the first time — and it helps keep costs low for everyone.

We recognize that many large online retailers encourage “buy now, decide later” shopping with “free shipping” and “free returns”. While this model benefits big corporations, it harms small businesses and, more importantly, drives up prices for all consumers or drives down quality and customer service. At Thumb Screw Depot, we believe nothing is truly free, that cost is recovered somewhere.

To be transparent, to prevent return abuse and to keep our prices as low as possible without otherwise compromising quality or service, we have established the following returns policy:

Restocking Fees

  • All opened product packages are assessed a flat 25% restocking fee*.
  • Any return of 26 or more pieces of the same SKU will be assessed a flat 50% restocking fee**.
  • Any return of 101 or more pieces in TOTAL (Same or Mixed SKUs) will be assessed a flat 75% restocking fee**.

*Every returned thumb screw is individually inspected upon receipt. We do not restock defective or damaged products. This inspection process is time-intensive, requires storage and repackaging, thusly requiring a substantial restocking fee to prevent price increases for all customers.
**This policy is on place to keep prices low for all customers by preventing the ordering of large quantities “just to test fit” and then returning them, especially with less common sizes or colors

Non-Refundable Items

  • Damaged products will not be refunded. Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or improper tools (such as pliers, hammers, or other inappropriate methods) is the customer’s responsibility.
  • Backordered or special order items are Non-Cancellable and Non-Refundable (NCNR) as outlined in our Backorder Policy.
  • Discontinued items are not eligible for return or refund.
  • Outlet items are not eligible for return or refund.

Return Process

  1. All returns must be approved in advance. Please contact us before shipping any items back.
  2. You must provide your order number and a clear reason for the return.
  3. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or we made an error.
  4. Refunds (when approved) will be issued to the original payment method, less any applicable restocking fees and the actual original shipping charges — even if the original order qualified for free shipping.
  5. Partial returns may result in a reduced refund amount, as the order may no longer qualify for free outbound shipping once items are removed.
  6. Returned items must be in original condition with original packaging whenever possible.

Exceptions

If a product arrives defective due to a manufacturing issue or if we shipped the wrong item, we will cover the return shipping costs and provide a full refund or replacement at no cost to you.

Please take the time to verify sizes, quantities, and specifications before placing your order. A few minutes of careful measurement can save significant time, money, and hassle for both you and other customers.
