Shipping Policy
At Thumb Screw Depot, we aim to ship your order quickly and efficiently while keeping costs as low as possible for our customers.
Free Shipping
- Free USPS Ground Advantage on all orders over $15.
- Free Expedited Shipping on orders over $75 (USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground at our discretion).
Note: For higher-value orders, we often ship via UPS Ground due to their superior on-time delivery performance. The US Postal Service no longer guarantees specific delivery dates for most services since 2020.
Shipping Times
In-Stock Items
- Orders placed by 10:00 AM CST, Monday through Friday, typically ship the same day.
- Orders placed after 10:00 AM CST on Friday will ship on or before Monday.
- Orders placed on a holiday will ship the next business day.
We always try to ship as quickly as possible. If your order is ready and packed before our daily pickup, it may ship the same day even if placed after the cutoff.
Orders with Backordered or Special Order Items
- All orders ship complete by default. (we do not split ship unless specifically arranged).
- Backordered and Special Order items typically ship within 3 to 7 business days, though they can take up to 14 business days in some cases.
Many items showing as “In Stock (Available on Backorder)” can still ship the same day depending on our daily production capacity.
Important Shipping Notes
- We do not make a profit on shipping. In many cases, we absorb part of the actual shipping cost after accounting for rates and processing fees.
- Free shipping is offered to simplify the ordering process, but any return for customer reasons (change of mind, wrong size ordered, etc.) will be charged our actual shipping costs, which start at $4.78 in 2026.
- Shipping costs for returns are the customer’s responsibility.
- If we are at fault (shipping error, defective item, etc.), we will cover return shipping or waive the return altogether.
General Information
- All orders ship via the US Postal Service (Ground Advantage or Priority Mail) or UPS Ground (All Services).
- We ship to all 50 states, including Alaska, Hawaii, APO, FPO, and DPO addresses.
Late or Lost Orders
We never like to hear that your order did not make it on time and we also understand your project is important.
If your order has not arrived by the scheduled delivery time, and you need your order asap, please reach out to us and let us know. While are hands are tied in regard to the delay, we can offer an interim solution to a late or lost order.
After you let us know that your order did not arrive on time, and after a quick review of the current tracking status, if we determine we can get a shipment to you before the original would make it, we will pre-approve compensation if you place a new order. Meaning, if the first order arrives, we will pay for return shipping (via prepaid label) and refund that order once we get it back or if that order turns out to be lost we will refund it once its 21 days past its due date.
If your order has not arrived 21 days after the expected delivery date, we will either fully refund your order or resend it at no additional cost.
Damaged Shipments
If your order arrives damaged, please take pictures before you open the package that includes the shipping label and tracking number, and pictures once opened of the contents. We will be glad to work out a prompt resolution based on the circumstances.
